The Attic – Terms of Use

This subscription isn't such a big deal and I'm not going to bore you with lengthy lawyer talk here. I just want to point out the most important terms that you effectively agree to when you join The Attic as a subscriber.

What you get when you subscribe to The Attic

Access

In order to access The Attic you have to register a user account and order a subscription. The subscription becomes active as soon as your payment has been received. If you're paying your subscription via PayPal, it normally will be activated automatically after your PayPal transaction. If you are paying via money transfer, your subscription will be activated manually as soon as your payment has arrived, which may take up to a few days.

As long as your subscription is active, you can access The Attic from any device that comes with a web browser under the URL http://attic.wormworldsaga.com.

Features

As a subscriber to The Attic you will get access to all content that is featured on the website. These features include:

  • Artwork versions of all chapters of the Wormworld Saga
  • Prelim versions of all chapters of the Wormworld Saga, containing author commentary
  • The ever expanding 'The Art of the Wormworld Saga' digital artbook

These are the minimum features that will always be available and they are amended with every new chapter that is published. It is possible that the list of features grows in the future but this will not cause any additional costs for existing subscriptions.

Content Updates

I can't give you a guaranty on how often there will be new content in The Attic. However, it's in my own interest to keep the website exciting for you so as soon as a new Chapter of the Wormworld Saga is published, The Attic will be the first place to be updated with its special features.

What you have to keep in mind as a subscriber to the Attic

Subscribing is not Buying

By subscribing to the Attic you are not actually 'buying' the content on the website. You aquire access to the content for a limited time. When your subscription expires, you will not longer have access to The Attic and its content. However, you can regain access at any time by renewing your subscription.

There's no Refunds

I'm sorry but I'm not able to refund you the subscription fee if you chose to cancel your subscription. Once you are subscribed to The Attic, you immediately gain full access to all content and your fee is practically redeemed by that. Also, we're not talking about a lot of money so I hope you understand that there are no refunds. In special cases (e.g. you want to continue your subscription through a different account but don't want to pay twice) we will get into personal contact and find an arrangement that everyone is going to be happy with.

Sharing Your Account

Just as you would share a magazine among family members, you are able to share your access to The Attic by logging in from different devices that belong to different members of your household. There's no harm in that. However, it's explicitly discouraged to disclose your account information (username and password) to anyone because it may lead to prohibited use of your account (see below).

Prohibited Use

There's some stuff that you really shouldn't do as a subscriber to The Attic. I know that there's only limited ways to force you to abide to these rules so I just kindly ask you to do it.

You're not allowed to permanently save a copy of any content from The Attic in a way that makes it accessible offline (meaning: without having to log in on the website) and you're explicitly not allowed to share such copies.

You're not allowed to spread your account information in a widely fashion among other people. The system will detect if your account information is used by a variety of different IP addresses and at a certain point your account may be deactivated.

That's it. Just be fair, that's all I'm asking for.

What I will take care of when you become a subscriber to The Attic

Your Privacy

You only have to provide very little private information in order to become a subscriber to The Attic. Basically I'm only keeping your name and email address inside the system and this data will only be used to maintain your account. From time to time I may use your email address to send out newsletters to all subscribers but I'm not going to make extensive use of that and you are able to opt out of these email messages at any time.

Your account can be deleted from the system at any time if you wish so. Your private information will then completely be removed from the system and not be stored in any other fashion.

Accessibility of the Website

I will do my best to keep The Attic website accessible all the time. The Attic is hosted on a reliable server and, if at all, downtimes should only occur sporadically. Should your subscription become automatically disabled because of presumed prohibited use of your account, I will contact you and solve the matter.

There you go! That's all I can think of right now. If you have any questions beyond this general information, please contact me at any time (see contact information at the top of the page)!

Thanks for supporting the Wormworld Saga with your membership!
